Folks seeking shags, mullets, undercuts, hard parts, icy blondes, colorful fashion colors, and blended balayages have a new hair salon to check out in Boulder, Colorado… MAL Queer Hair Studio has officially opened its doors to the LGBTQIA+ and Ally community.

MAL was founded by Queer creatives who wanted to build a safe and inclusive hair salon focused on providing accessible hair cut & color services.

We know firsthand how hard it can be to find a hair salon that makes you feel seen and understood – where gender expression or styling needs isn’t inferred by the stylist, but asked as part of your consult. Hair can be approached in so many different and affirming ways!

At MAL, we take great care in understanding your hair concerns, providing education at your preferred maintenance level, and checking in often to make sure your service is meeting your hair needs. Get to know more about us by meeting our Stylists and reading our Client Reviews.

We are committed to meeting our clients where they are.

Queer can mean many things and we see it as Community. We are doing our part to uplift our community by removing barriers to access and service. See our Sliding Scale option and other Accessibility information on our Studio page. If you are a queer organization in Boulder, please contact us for partnership opportunities.
